  • 2 cans Beef Broth 14.5-ounce cans, Better-than-Bouillon is an alternative.
  • 2 cups Water Adjust for broth depth.
For Serving
  • 6-8 Crusty Rolls Ciabatta or hoagie rolls preferred.
  • 6-8 slices Swiss or Provolone Cheese Melts beautifully.
Optional Toppings
  • Horseradish Mayo Adds extra kick.
  • Garlic Aioli Adds extra flavor.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by generously seasoning your beef chuck roast with kosher salt and black pepper. Sear in olive oil for 1-2 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and let rest.
  2. Place the seared beef chuck roast into your slow cooker with pan drippings.
  3. Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix over the beef. Pour in water and beef broth to cover the meat.
  4. Cover and cook on HIGH for 4-6 hours or LOW for 8-10 hours until fork-tender.
  5. Remove the beef and shred using two forks. Keep warm.
  6. Preheat oven broiler. Slice rolls in half, pile shredded beef, and top with cheese. Broil for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts.
  7. Serve with broth for dipping and enjoy!
