Prepare the Steaks:
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, chopped onion, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 4 oval-shaped patties.
Cook the Steaks:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
- Remove from skillet and set aside.
Make the Gravy:
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add sliced mushrooms and onions; sauté for 4-5 minutes until softened.
- Sprinkle in flour, stirring constantly, and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually pour in beef broth, whisking to avoid lumps.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, black pepper, and salt. Stir and simmer until thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
Combine and Serve:
- Return Salisbury steaks to the skillet, spoon gravy over them.
- Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.
