Preparation Steps
- Warm the milk to between 105–115°F and stir in the active dry yeast; let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, egg, food coloring, and vanilla; stir to form a rough dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- Roll the risen dough into a 12x9 inch rectangle, spread butter, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon, and roll tightly into a log. Cut into 8-12 rolls.
- Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish and cover; let rise for another 30 minutes until puffy.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until light golden brown.
- While baking, prepare frosting by blending cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Drizzle frosting over warm rolls as soon as they come out of the oven, and serve warm.

Notes
For best results, measure flour carefully and monitor yeast activation. Creative variations can be added to the filling for personal touches.
