Ingredients

For the Cake:
  • 1 box white cake mix plus ingredients as per package instructions
  • Gel food coloring in pastel shades
For the Filling:
  • 2 boxes instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 cups cold milk
For the Topping:
  • 1 container whipped topping thawed
  • Easter-themed sprinkles optional

Method

  1. Prepare the Cake Batter: Mix the white cake batter according to package instructions. Divide into separate bowls and add different pastel food colorings.
  2. Create a Marbled Effect: Pour the colored batters into a greased cake pan, gently swirling them together for a beautiful pastel pattern.
  3. Bake & Cool: Bake according to package instructions. Allow to cool slightly.
  4. Poke Holes: Use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke evenly spaced holes across the cake.
  5. Prepare the Pudding: Whisk together instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until thickened.
  6. Fill the Cake: Pour the pudding over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes. Smooth the top.
  7. Chill & Set: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the pudding to fully set.
  8. Top & Decorate: Spread the whipped topping over the cake and sprinkle with Easter-themed decorations.
  9. Serve & Enjoy: Slice and serve chilled for the best texture and flavor!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, swap vanilla pudding for lemon or white chocolate pudding.
  • Use a toothpick or skewer if you don’t have a wooden spoon to poke holes.
  • Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
  • For a fun twist, use chocolate cake mix instead of white for a chocolate Easter poke cake.
