Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 oz each
  • ½ cup orange juice freshly squeezed
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 tbsp green onions chopped (for garnish)

Method

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make the Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine orange juice, soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer.
  3. Thicken the Sauce: Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
  4. Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Brush generously with the orange teriyaki sauce.
  5. Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, basting once halfway through.
  6. Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve with rice or steamed veggies. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For a caramelized glaze, broil the salmon for the last 2 minutes.
  • You can marinate the salmon in the sauce for 15-30 minutes for even more flavor.
  • Pairs well with jasmine rice, stir-fried vegetables, or a fresh Asian-inspired salad.
