  • Kosher Salt For seasoning to taste.
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper For seasoning to taste.
For Assembly
  • 1 can Cooking Spray Prevents sticking; can use olive oil instead.
  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce Base of the lasagna; choose a high-quality brand for best flavor.

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 2 cups of shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, beaten egg, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper until creamy.

  5. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella evenly over the top.
  6. Cover the dish tightly with greased tin foil and bake for 35 minutes.
  7. After 35 minutes, remove the foil, raise the oven temperature to 400ºF (200ºC), and bake uncovered for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before serving, garnishing with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
