Method
Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Place a large baking sheet on the middle rack to heat as the oven preheats.
Prepare the Chicken:
- Tear off a large sheet of parchment paper.
- Place one chicken breast in a zip-top bag, remove air, and seal.
- Use a rolling pin or meat mallet to pound the chicken to 1/2-inch thickness.
- Repeat with the remaining chicken breasts.
- Season the flattened chicken with kosher salt and black pepper on both sides.
Make the Topping:
- In a large bowl, mix the cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth.
- Add the cheddar cheese, bacon, almonds, garlic powder, and half of the sliced green onions. Stir to combine.
Assemble the Dish:
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over each piece of chicken.
- Carefully remove the hot baking sheet from the oven and place it on a heatproof surface.
- Transfer the chicken onto the hot baking sheet using the parchment paper.
Bake the Chicken:
- Place the baking sheet back in the oven.
- Bake for 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, golden, and the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F.
Serve and Garnish:
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle the remaining green onions over the chicken before serving.
