  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon Flaky sea salt For sprinkling on top.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the caramel chips and chocolate chips if using.
  7. Scoop portions of the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Sprinkle a generous amount of flaky sea salt on top of each dough mound.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and centers are slightly soft.
  10. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
