Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for cooking

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined.
  2. Add the egg to the mixture and stir until everything is evenly incorporated.
  3. Shape the mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter. You should have approximately 8 patties.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
  5. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
  6. Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with additional parsley or alongside a yogurt sauce if desired.
