Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for rolling

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
  2. Add flour, matcha, baking powder, and salt. Mix until combined.
  3. Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet.
  5. Roll dough into balls, then coat in powdered sugar.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set.
  7. Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • The chilling step is key to getting perfect crinkles. For deeper green color, use ceremonial grade matcha.
