Ingredients

For the Pasta
  • 8 oz Pasta Choose your favorite shape; gluten-free works great.
For the Sauce
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Use 80/20 for rich flavor.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Can substitute with half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
  • 1 cup Beef Broth Opt for low sodium to control saltiness.
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese Freshly grated for best texture.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Sautéed briefly for flavor.
  • 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
For the Finish
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley Chopped coarsely for garnish.

Equipment

  • large pot
  • Large Skillet
  • Spatula

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Boil the Pasta: Bring a large pot of heavily salted water to a rolling boil. Add your pasta and cook until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water before draining and set aside.
  2. Brown the Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat but keep a little for flavor.
  3. Sauté the Garlic: Add minced garlic to the skillet with beef and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, avoiding browning.
  4. Build the Sauce: Pour in beef broth, scraping the skillet bottom. Simmer for 3-4 minutes to combine flavors.
  5. Incorporate the Cream: Lower heat and stir in heavy cream, cooking gently for about 2 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Add the Cheese: Gradually stir in grated Parmesan until melted and smooth. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  7. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Toss drained pasta into the sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed to achieve desired consistency.
  8. Serve and Garnish: Serve in shallow bowls, garnishing with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan.
