Lucky Rainbow Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 50 marshmallows
  • 7 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • cup green candy melts
  • cup white candy melts
  • Green and white sprinkles optional

Method
 

  1. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Remove from heat and quickly stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and use a buttered spatula or wax paper to press it evenly into the pan.
  6. Melt the green and white candy melts in separate microwave-safe bowls, heating in 15-30 second intervals and stirring until smooth.
  7. Drizzle the melted candy over the Rice Krispie treats.
  8. Sprinkle with green and white sprinkles for a festive touch.
  9. Allow the treats to cool and set before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

    • For softer treats, use fresh marshmallows and don’t overheat them.
    • To make shamrock shapes, use a large shamrock cookie cutter.
    • For extra sweetness, mix in white chocolate chips or mini marshmallows before pressing into the pan.
    • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
    • To freeze, wrap individual squares in plastic wrap and store in a ziplock bag for up to 3 months.
