Step-by-Step Instructions for Lemon Basil Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 12 ounces of dried linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 4 minced garlic cloves and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Add the drained linguine to the skillet and pour in 1/4 cup of heavy cream. Gradually stir in reserved pasta water until the sauce reaches desired consistency. Toss for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Remove from heat and stir in the juice and zest of 1 large lemon along with 1 ounce of sliced fresh basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve topped with Parmesan cheese and additional basil.
