Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Generously season the beef brisket with salt and pepper.
  3. In a large Dutch oven, heat olive oil and sear brisket for 3–4 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove brisket and sauté sliced onions for 5–7 minutes until softened.
  5. Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Deglaze the pot with beef broth and red wine, then bring to a simmer.
  7. Add bay leaves, thyme, paprika, and cumin; simmer for a few minutes.
  8. Return brisket to the pot, cover, and braise in the oven for 4–5 hours.
  9. Once done, let the brisket rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
