Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of softened unsalted butter, 1 cup of packed brown sugar, and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar. Beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Add 2 large eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  5. Fold in 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  6. Spread the dough into the prepared baking dish evenly.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown on the edges and the center is soft but set.
  8. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the salted caramel sauce with a splash of heavy cream until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the warm salted caramel sauce over the cooled cookie bars.
  10. Allow to cool completely before slicing into squares.
