Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine halved cherry tomatoes, olive oil, and minced garlic. Add red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Toss and let marinate for 4 hours.
  2. Fill a large pot with water, add a pinch of salt and olive oil, and bring to a boil.
  3. Add spaghetti or fusilli once water is boiling. Cook until al dente, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Drain the pasta, reserving a cup of pasta water. Transfer pasta to the bowl with marinated tomatoes and toss to coat.
  5. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency. Add torn basil leaves and toss gently.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with extra cheese and basil leaves.
