Step-by-Step Instructions for Sweet Condensed Milk Bread
- Activate the Yeast: In a bowl, combine ½ cup of warm milk, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 2 teaspoons of instant yeast. Let this mixture sit for 5 minutes until it becomes foamy.
- Mix the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour and ½ teaspoon of salt. Gradually add the yeast mixture, along with ½ cup of sweetened condensed milk, 1 large egg, and 3 tablespoons of softened butter. Stir until the mixture forms a shaggy dough, then knead by hand for about 8-10 minutes.
- First Rise: Shape the kneaded dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for 30-45 minutes, until it doubles in size.
- Shape the Dough: After rising, punch down the dough, transfer it to a floured surface, and shape it into a loaf. Cover and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
- Apply Egg Wash & Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush loaf with egg wash and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool & Serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
