Ingredients
  

  • Cooked chicken shredded 2 cups
  • Chicken broth 5 cups
  • Milk 1 cup
  • All-purpose flour 1 cup
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Salt ½ tsp
  • Butter 3 tbsp
  • Carrots diced 1 cup
  • Celery diced 1 cup
  • Onion chopped 1 cup
  • Garlic minced 2 cloves
  • Dried thyme ½ tsp
  • Fresh parsley optional

Method
 

  1. In a large pot, sauté onion, garlic, carrots, and celery in butter until softened.
  2. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer and stir in cooked chicken and thyme.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and milk until just combined to form a sticky dough.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of dough into the soup. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Stir gently, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.

  • Dumplings expand as they cook, so drop small spoonfuls.
