Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
Mash the Bananas:
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth.

- Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
Incorporate Dry Ingredients:
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt evenly over the mixture and stir.
- Gradually add the flour and mix until just incorporated. Do not overmix.
Fold in Mix-ins (Optional):
- If using, gently fold in the chopped walnuts or chocolate chips.
Pour the Batter:
- Transfer the batter into the greased loaf pan and spread it evenly.
Bake the Banana Bread:
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve:
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- Transfer to a wire rack and cool completely before slicing.
