Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, egg, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and olive oil together. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches, cooking for about 5-6 minutes, turning occasionally until browned on all sides.
  5. Transfer the browned meatballs back to the baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F).
  6. Remove from the oven and garnish with additional chopped parsley before serving.
