  • 1 cup shredded cheese Gruyère or Swiss

Method
 

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the sliced onions.
  3. Sprinkle sugar, salt, and pepper over the onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Add beef broth to the skillet and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, caramelized onions, shredded cheese, parsley, and balsamic vinegar.
  6. Toss everything together until well mixed and serve warm or chilled.
