Ingredients
  

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 package 10 oz marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring various colors
  • Sprinkles or edible glitter optional

Method
 

  1. In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. If using multiple colors, divide the mixture into separate bowls and add food coloring to each.
  3. Gently fold in the Rice Krispies cereal, stirring until evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch pan. Lightly press down with a greased spatula to spread evenly, being careful not to pack them too tightly.
  5. If desired, sprinkle with edible glitter or sprinkles before the mixture sets.
  6. Let cool for about 30 minutes, then cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • For extra gooey treats, add an extra cup of mini marshmallows at the end before pressing into the pan.
  • Use fresh marshmallows for the best texture—stale ones won’t melt as smoothly.
  • Lightly grease your hands or spatula to prevent sticking when spreading the mixture in the pan.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
