  • 12 pieces Hong-Kong-Style Yellow Dumpling Wrappers Alternatives: tofu skin or blanched napa cabbage leaves.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions for Money Bag Dumplings
  1. Soak the dried shiitake mushrooms in hot water for about 30 minutes or overnight. Drain, finely dice, and save soaking water.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok. Add minced ginger and diced carrot, sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in diced mushrooms and bamboo shoots. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add Shaoxing wine, light soy sauce, and vegetarian oyster sauce. Stir and cook for about 2 minutes until glossy.
  5. Fold in chopped scallions and cool completely before wrapping.
  6. Blanch cilantro stems in boiling water for 30 seconds, then cool in ice water.
  7. Roll out dumpling wrappers to 4 inches. Place 1 tablespoon of filling in the center.
  8. Pinch the edges together and secure with a cilantro stem.
  9. Steam in a bamboo steamer for about 3 minutes until golden, or pan-fry until crispy.
