  • 1 cup Japanese short-grain rice or jasmine rice
  • 1 pinch Salt to balance sweetness

  • 2 ears Fresh Corn juicy kernels preferred over canned corn

  • 1 tablespoon Butter to mix in after cooking

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions for Corn Rice
  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until water runs clear, about 3-4 times.
  2. Transfer rinsed rice to rice cooker pot and fill with water up to the '1 cup rice' line.
  3. Shuck and cut the kernels off 2 ears of fresh corn, then set aside.
  4. Layer corn kernels on top of the rice, sprinkle with salt, and do not mix.
  5. Snap corn cobs in half and layer on top of the corn kernels.
  6. Close the cooker lid and select normal cooking setting.
  7. Allow cooking cycle to complete, usually taking about 20-30 minutes.
  8. Let it rest for an additional 10 minutes after cooking.
  9. Open lid, remove corn cobs, and fluff rice with a rice paddle.
