Method
Prepare the Slow Cooker:
- Lightly spray your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
Layer Ingredients:
- Place chicken breasts evenly at the bottom of your crock pot.
Mix Gravy:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, chicken gravy mix, and ranch seasoning (if using) until combined and smooth.
Cook:
- Pour the gravy mixture evenly over the chicken breasts, ensuring each piece is coated.
- Cover the crock pot, cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until chicken is tender and cooked through.
Shred or Serve Whole:
- Once done, shred chicken with two forks for a creamy shredded chicken gravy, or serve chicken breasts whole topped generously with gravy.
Serve:
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
- Enjoy served over hot steamed rice, creamy mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or biscuits.
Notes
- Add Veggies: You can add sliced mushrooms, diced carrots, or peas directly into the crock pot for extra nutrition.
- Thicker Gravy: For a thicker gravy, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water and stir into the sauce during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Seasoning Customization: Feel free to adjust seasonings, herbs, or add garlic powder and onion powder for additional depth of flavor.
- Storage: Leftovers keep beautifully in the fridge for 3-4 days in an airtight container. Reheat gently in the microwave or on the stovetop.
