  • 1 tablespoon Sambal Oelek Adjust according to spice tolerance
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic Paste Fresh minced garlic can be used
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Wine Vinegar Provides tanginess
  • 1 tablespoon Additional Cornstarch For thickening the sauce

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Press the tofu by wrapping it in paper towels and placing a heavy object on top for 30 minutes.
  2. Slice the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes and coat with cornstarch.
  3. Heat sesame oil and vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry the tofu cubes for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown.
  5. Whisk together the sauce ingredients in a bowl while the tofu fries.
  6. Pour the sauce over the crispy tofu and stir for 2-3 minutes until coated.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds or chopped scallions.
