Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Start by bringing a pot of water to a boil, and gently lower in four large eggs. Cook the eggs for 6-7 minutes for a soft-boiled texture, then immediately transfer them to an ice bath for about 5 minutes to halt the cooking process.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine your choice of sausage meat with a sprinkle of salt, freshly ground black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Use your hands to mix the ingredients thoroughly until well blended and fragrant.
  3. Take a handful of the seasoned sausage mixture in your hand and flatten it out into a layer. Gently wrap the sausage around each peeled egg, ensuring it is fully encased with an even thickness.
  4. Roll each wrapped egg in a shallow dish of breadcrumbs, ensuring each piece is evenly coated. For extra crispiness, consider dipping the sausage-wrapped eggs in beaten egg first.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Once ready, gently place the Scotch eggs in the air fryer basket and spray them generously with olive oil. Cook for about 12-15 minutes, until each egg is golden brown and crunchy.
  6. After a quick cooling period, carefully remove the Air Fryer Scotch Eggs from the basket. Slice them in half for a beautiful display and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
