Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil, add pasta, and cook according to package instructions, aiming for al dente. Reserve ¼ cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté the Garlic: In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Prepare the Creamy Sauce: Lower heat and add heavy cream to the garlic. Stir and let it warm without boiling.
  4. Incorporate Parmesan Cheese: Gradually whisk in Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth.
  5. Thicken the Sauce: Add reserved pasta water and black pepper. Mix and let sauce thicken over low heat for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add pasta to the skillet, squeeze in lemon juice, and toss until well-coated. Add more pasta water if needed.
  7. Serve and Garnish: Transfer pasta to plates, sprinkle with extra Parmesan and lemon zest. Serve immediately.

Notes

Keep the heat low when adding lemon juice to prevent curdling of the cream. Always reserve enough pasta water for a glossy sauce.
