Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions, usually about 2-4 minutes until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Lower the heat and pour in heavy cream, stirring continuously for 2-3 minutes until creamy.
  4. Gradually add Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and combined.
  5. Add chopped basil and Calabrian chili paste, stirring well. Adjust spice as desired.
  6. Toss drained cavatelli in the sauce, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Allow the dish to warm through for another 2-3 minutes.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with extra basil leaves or chili flakes.
