Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil or non-stick spray.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add ground turkey and season with ¼ teaspoon kosher salt. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Add 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 diced onion to the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes until softened, then add 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Reduce heat to low, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of flour over the mixture, whisk in 1 cup of chicken broth and 1 cup of milk. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
- Stir in 2 cups of broccoli florets and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Mix in 1 cup of cheddar cheese, season with salt and black pepper.
- In the greased dish, combine cooked turkey and 3 cups of cooked rice. Pour the sauce over and stir gently, then sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden brown.
- Let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving, enhancing flavors and texture.

Notes
Chop broccoli small for even cooking, and if using frozen, squeeze out excess moisture before adding to the casserole.
