Ingredients

  • 2 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 10.25-ounce can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 1.74-ounce packet chicken gravy mix
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Method

  1. Prepare the Gravy Mixture
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, chicken gravy mix, and chicken broth. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Add the Chicken to the Slow Cooker
  4. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker in a single layer.
  5. Pour the Sauce Over the Chicken
  6. Evenly distribute the gravy mixture over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  7. Cook Low and Slow
  8. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 4–5 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
  9. Shred the Chicken
  10. Once done, use two forks to shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker. Stir well to combine with the gravy.
  11. Serve and Enjoy
  12. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, or biscuits. Garnish with fresh parsley for added flavor.

Notes

  • For a thicker gravy, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and stir it into the slow cooker 20 minutes before serving.
  • Add mushrooms, carrots, or peas for extra texture and nutrition.
  • To make it creamier, stir in ¼ cup of sour cream or cream cheese before serving.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or frozen for 3 months.
