Mix in the vanilla extract, baking soda, and salt.
Add the sugar and beaten egg, stirring until fully incorporated.
Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour until just combined. Do not overmix.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
