Ingredients
  

  • chicken thighs or breasts
  • salt
  • pepper
  • garlic
  • mushrooms
  • marsala wine
  • chicken broth
  • heavy cream
  • cornstarch

Method
 

  1. Season chicken and place in slow cooker.
  2. Top with garlic, mushrooms, wine, and broth.
  3. Cook on low for 5–6 hours or high for 2–3 hours.
  4. Mix cream and cornstarch; stir into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes.
  5. Serve hot.

Notes

  • searing chicken before slow cooking adds flavor
  • use low-sodium broth if preferred
  • heavy cream makes the sauce rich and luscious
  • serve with mashed potatoes or noodles
  • store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days
