For the Eggs
  • 4 eggs Hard-boiled Eggs
For the Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter or olive oil/ghee for dairy-free
  • 1 medium Sliced Onions or shallots/green onions
  • 3 cloves Minced Garlic or 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tblsp Garlic Paste or more minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Broth or chicken broth
  • 1 tsp Old Bay Seasoning or Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp Paprika or smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder adjust or omit
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder omit if necessary
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes or chili powder

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Fill a medium saucepan with water and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat. Carefully add the eggs and let them cook for about 10 minutes.
  2. Transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool for easier peeling.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt 1/4 cup of unsalted butter over medium heat, stirring occasionally until melted.
  4. Add the sliced onions and sauté for 3-4 minutes until soft and translucent.
  5. Stir in minced garlic and garlic paste, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Add Old Bay seasoning, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes, stirring well.
  7. Pour in 1/2 cup of vegetable broth and bring to a gentle simmer for 5 minutes.
  8. Peel the cooled eggs and place them in a serving bowl, then ladle the spicy garlic butter sauce over the eggs.
  9. Serve warm or chilled, garnishing with parsley or additional red pepper flakes as desired.
