Ingredients

  • 12 oz package Beef Lit'L Smokies
  • 10 oz can crescent roll dough

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the dough by unrolling the crescent roll sheet onto a cutting board. Separate it into individual triangles, then cut each triangle into three smaller pieces.
  3. Wrap the sausages by placing one Lit'L Smokie at the wide end of each triangle and rolling it toward the narrow end.
  4. Arrange on the baking sheet with space between each piece for even baking.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and crisp.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces, such as mustard, barbecue sauce, or cheese dip.

Notes

  • For a golden finish, brush the dough with an egg wash (beaten egg with a little water) before baking.
  • To add flavor, sprinkle the tops with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or garlic powder.
  • Make-ahead option: Assemble the pigs in a blanket and refrigerate for up to 4 hours before baking.
  • Freezer-friendly: Freeze unbaked pigs in a blanket and bake straight from frozen, adding 2–3 minutes to the baking time.
  • Reheating: Warm leftovers in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5 minutes to maintain crispiness.
