Method
- Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook 1–2 minutes.
- Slowly whisk in milk, cooking until thickened.
- Stir in cheeses, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until melted.
- Add cooked pasta and half of the bacon. Stir to coat.
- Transfer to a baking dish, top with remaining bacon. Broil for 2–3 minutes if desired.
Notes
- Add breadcrumbs on top before broiling for crunch.
- Use smoked gouda or gruyère for flavor variety.
